AI transcribe is horrible, uncleas and hallucinations abound.Does not transcribe Afrikaans at all.Records ok, as I eventually used Turboscribe to do the transcriptiob and normal Chat GPT for the meeting notes.Shadow, its own AI thought partner lacks depth.For the price, not worth it.Again using my phones recorder, Turboscribe (which I pay for, although I would have paid for Ticnote as well) and Chat GPT.It looks ok though, but does not deliver.

I have owned many Mobvoi products over the years starting with their Ticwatch2 that I purchased in October, 2016. I have always found their products to be very well designed and manufactured. In fact, to make it even more impressive, Mobvoi developed their own operating system for the Ticwatch2 before later abandoning it in favor of the WearOS.The first thing I was struck with was just how compact this device is. It is literally the length and width of a standard credit card and slightly thinner than 3 stacked on top of each other.It comes in a very nice case...I can't tell if it's real leather or not, that's how nice it is. It comes with a charging cable that is approximately 24" in length. The charger attaches magnetically and is proprietary, you do not want to lose it. There is a cutout in the back of the case to attach the charger, the Ticnote doesn't have to be removed from its case to charge it.Setup was a breeze. Fully charge the device, download the Mobvoi Ticnote app, set up your account and connect the device to your phone.I will be the first to acknowledge the Ticnote is capable of far more than what I ordered it for. I primarily purchased this to aid in transcribing letters and draft pleadings .The design is minimalistic, a very small display, a power button and a mode button. After holding down the power button for two seconds, the device is turned on. Another two second press powers it down.During my first use, I was coughing a bit from pollen allergies and I assumed the transcript was going to be a mess. More on this shortly.After dictating my letter, I directed the device to transcribe the recording. That was accomplished very quickly. I was pleasantly surprised to see that despite my several coughing outbursts, only one word was missed. Even more encouraging was the device was smart enough to ignore my coughs and not try to transcribe those sounds into some random words. I was impressed with the accuracy of the transcription under difficult circumstances.After I saw and read my transcript, it was time to export it. I was able to select the format I wanted it exported in, which thankfully including Word, and the process was identical on my Galaxy S25+ to emailing a photograph to someone..in this case, my secretary's email account. You can also export the transcript as a text message or PDF file.The email with attachment arrived quickly, with the transcript file properly attached as a Word document. After downloading the file, we opened it in Word without issue and was able to edit it as any other Word document.Another Ticnote feature I find invaluable is its ability to translate into foreign languages. Historically, when I wrote to a Spanish speaking client, I would copy and paste the English document into Google Translate and then copy and paste the result back into the original document. With the Ticnote you can select translate and then the desired language and transmit the translated document.One feature I didn't think I would use is the AI summary of my letters. I find myself referring to those summaries of what I dictated just to confirm the document is properly conveying the thoughts I had intended.Mobvoi has an absolute winner here. Very small, exquisitely made and feature rich...capable of greatly simplifying many of my office tasks.
